A perpetual source of frustration to the proponents of moral relativity is the stubborn fact that virtually every conflict can be distilled down to a moral principle. In this sense, the word “moral” is not synonymous with religious but encompasses a definition of right and wrong that is recognizable and applicable to believers and unbelievers alike. Unfortunately, most of the debate over the hot-button issues of our day rages over the popularity of an issue rather than the key moral principle at the heart of the matter.
