What is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement?

Why pass a law when you can pass a global treaty?

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) has been in the works for several years, but back in October of last year they completed a final draft.

Now that it appears SOPA and PIPA (internet censorship bills before the U.S. Congress) appear to be stalled for the moment, they are now going full steam ahead with ACTA.

ACTA appears to be just as bad for the internet, but goes a good deal further than just the internet…
