No Really – Holder Shrugged Off Being Held In Contempt Of Congress

Holder-ContemptAs long as liberals keep saying that Rep. Louie Gohmert is quasi-racist or at the very least disrespectful and rude for suggesting during the Judiciary hearing Tuesday that Attorney General Eric Holder didn’t take being held in contempt seriously, I’m going to have to keep pounding this.

On the O’Reilly Factor tonight, Bill asked James Carville if it “jarred” him to hear the Attorney General make a racial assertion like he did before Al Sharpton’s group, Wednesday.  Carville answered, no, because he believed the Attorney General really felt that way.

“Based on what,” O’Reilly pressed.

“I think what Rep Gohmert said was pretty offensive – if I were the Attorney General, I’d take offense at …”

“What was offensive about Gohmert?” O’Reilly interrupted.  “He just said [Holder] had already been cited for contempt of congress…”

Carville butt in, “he said [Holder] took it lightly. And [Holder] said, ‘I’m the Attorney General I don’t take this lightly at all.'”

I’ve already written about this here and here but the Attorney General’s stunning admission to ABC News in Feb 2013 that the contempt votes didn’t matter to him, is worth repeating.

“…I have to tell you that for me to really be affected by what happened, I’d have to have respect for the people who voted in that way,” Holder said. “And I didn’t, so it didn’t have that huge an impact on me.”

Again – Gohmert was only reflecting Holder’s own words.
