First Amendment Terrorist: Pentagon Says Protests Are Acts of “Low Level Terrorism”

FirstAmendmentTerroristWatch how this works.

First, the government responds to the September 11th attack by passing the Patriot Act, which is purportedly designed to protect us from foreign terrorists.

Most of America cheers it on, never realizing that within the act is a broad definition for something categorized as domestic terrorism, or “activities that appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, or to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion.”

Second, they pass the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows them, under the definitions for domestic terrorism set forth by the Patriot Act, to detain someone without trial and forever if they appear to be subverting the newly established status quo.

Third, they declare all federal property, or property being used for political events where Secret Service protection is present, as “events of national significance” through the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act.

Undesirable demonstrators operating counter to the official narrative in these areas are herded into court approved free speech zones.

Finally, once the new laws are in place, the government security apparatus begins the re-education of its minions by labeling as “terrorists” anyone who dares speak out or disagrees with their new policy initiatives.

This last step is and has been happening for some time.

Even the very act of assembling with other like minded people to influence policy by petitioning the Government for a redress of grievances can land you on the domestic terrorism list:

A written exam administered by the Pentagon labels “protests” as a form of “low-level terrorism” — enraging civil liberties advocates and activist groups who say it shows blatant disregard of the First Amendment.

The written exam, given as part of Department of Defense employees’ routine training, includes a multiple-choice question that asks:

“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”

– Attacking the Pentagon

– IEDs

– Hate crimes against racial groups

– Protests

The correct answer, according to the exam, is “Protests.”

“Its part of a pattern of equating dissent and protest with terrorism,” said Ann Brick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, which obtained a copy of the question after a Defense Department employee who was taking the test printed the screen on his or her computer terminal.

“It undermines the core constitutional values the Department of Defense is supposed to be defending,” Brick said, referring to the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble.

“That’s illegal,” said George Martin, national co-chairman of United for Peace and Justice. “Protest in terms of legal dissent has to be recognized, especially by the authorities.

“It’s not terrorism or a lack of patriotism. We care enough to be active in our government.”

“It’s the kind of thing that happens when you have large security bureaucracies, which is why they need to be kept in check,” Friedman said. “These things tend to occur in times of panic, like after Sept. 11.

After many years of a slow but steady erosion of our right to speak freely, to assemble peaceably, to bear arms, to be safe and secure in our persons, and to be given due process in a court of law, we begin to see the sinister end game emerge.

Our entire system of government, the one established by our Founding Fathers, is being systematically dismantled.

The article has good points but those point, laws and freedom, must be examined on the basis of how they are used. I find that some of the people that worked for Fox associated entities more than abused the facts. Yes we have a first amendment and we have a right to hold opinion and believes according to our views, but, it is imperative that In a free nation the people be educated in school to closely monitor certain people who misuse our freedom for very unpatriotic reasons. Reasons derived from bribery’s, enemies of this nation and those that want to take advantage of this Nation good will for
reason the Founders rejected, among them is SPECIAL, Privilege relations with ANY Nation and involvement on their “FOREIGN INTRIGUES” . For the record the Patriot
Act emerged as a result of 9/11 but Bush was surrounded by Neocon, both American and Israeli involved in an effort to use US military might to decimate any effort standing in the way of taking over all oil producing countries, the entire area to be governed by Israel. Bush, understandingly,, stated that we should take the suggestion of Israel who has more experience in fighting terrorism and prepare for an eternal war. Sharon was quoted as saying we needed to suppress and remove those opposition groups in the USA who were anti Semite blocking the Plan For America prepared in Israel by Neo Con. So he demanded that Bush allow Israeli intelligence to set up and run the Patriot Act and he would see to it that the opposition wll be taken care off. Bush, fortunately still had the fortitude to tell him “but that would be unconstitutional” to which Sharon replied ” O.K. we will do it without your permission as we have been doing all along” . So you are right, but both our Political Parties and grouping have extremes who want to impose their views, Views that have nothing to do with the basic principle on which this this nation was founded and and We the People, the Loyal Citizens of this Nation, want to preserve and Take back. I stood with Ron Paul because of his foreign policy, his Libertarian economic needs updating to present circumstances BUT unless we get out of this circle of wars we cannot help our People, and unless we get rid of those people in Congress and Government being paid by foreign interests we cannot do it. The basic element we fight now are socialist tendencies. Socialism and communism was devised during different times and never applied to this Nation character of free people. At the other end we have powerful global entities, mostly oil and other scarce resources who, since European Colonialism have demanded national military and diplomatic support for their less than honest and fair actions. These are Facts and occupied people have memories. Now, as the globalism developed and the oil companies controlled global wealth, other entities began looking for other sources of global wealth.. and, here comes the Drug Cartels. These people do not worry about the basic principles of this nation, their only motivation for partnership and common action is the common greed for more wealth. They are afraid of We the People gaining knowledge because if we put on the right glasses and see the truth we can destroy them so fast they will need a new planet to inhabit. And believe it or not they are looking for one. The only thing stopping us is being kept apart by cleaver operators.
So, don’t look for full agreement on any thing, to win only look for agreement on a common issue. On the gun issue, don’t live it to Washington, it is caught between right and left, each seeking only their ideological view. We the people can demand that sellers like WalMart, etc. cannot operate in our area unless it dumps the guns. It is done with drugs right??? So, what is so difficult to deny a store permit to sell military guns to the public. As for propaganda, time to go on the offensive, remove all those crazy rules about offensive words, one has a right to think what they wish, Gay or Muslim or Black or Jews, unless you organize for ACTION against them that exclude them from society. If someone objects to your view just ask them on what ground they think they are right. Our biggest error, and Obama, is his “more perfect Union” Define the parameter of this Union and make sure it is according to the Constitution NOT some Minority or Majority personal demand. Epictetus., a Christian slave in Roman times said: “of all existing things same are in our power some are not in our power, in our power is the WILL to get and the WILL to avoid” . Never allow any law to stop your WILL to choose.
