House Speaker John Boehner today came out in favor of comprehensive immigration reform in an interview with ABC News:

This issue has been around far too long. A comprehensive approach is long overdue, and I’m confident that the president, myself, others can find the common ground to take care of this issue once and for all.

Many commentators have argued that it is vital for the Republican Party to embrace comprehensive immigration reform in order to take the issue off the table as a wedge issue for Democrats with the Latino population. It’s clear that the reason the Obama administration didn’t tackle immigration reform during the Democrat-run Congress of 2009-2010 is that they wanted the issue to survive. With a Republican House, watch for Republicans to initiate legislation on this issue, opening the Latino vote to the Republican Party, particularly as the Latino population is heavily Catholic.

My plan to start is based on rational logic and sanity.
First determine our natural, finite resource availability and number of population it can sustain based on determined life style. Then adjust immigration based on that number.
This is not new, during the surge of immigration of the 1920s, people concern caused the Government to freeze immigration until when large number of immigrants were fully assimilated and did not require public assistance.
I think that scarce resources such as water, breathing space, damage to our traditional way of life, exposure to wars and etc. in this country has reached saturation long ago.
Saturation is when a country needs to depend on other Nations for scarce and basic resources.
The moral rationale is that we do not help future generations here or abroad if we allow their surplus population to move here. Proper government action may be required there.

A starter:FREEZE until an optimal number is achieved. Ans politically, right to vote that comes with citizenship must be determined with due care that no ethnic group overpower
the total residents. Not by color but point of origin.
