Incarceration nation and government drug running
For once I am not complaining about the media, but commending them.
The New York Times is reporting on evangelical leader Pat Robertson’s comments on the rate of the incarceration in this country due to the bogus War on Drugs.
Fareed Zakaria of CNN is NOT one of my favorites, but even he did a piece recently called ‘Incarceration Nation’, in which he agrees with Robertson that the War on Drugs is wrong headed.
Kudos.
The United States makes up 5% of the world’s population, but has 25% of the world’s prisoners. Incarceration Nation indeed.
I’d like to supplement this conversation with a clip from the documentary “Ring of Power” which takes an alternative look at the world’s largest drug cartel and where the War on Drugs intersects with the War on Terror…
