These days, with a crisis atmosphere growing in the Persian Gulf, a little history lesson about the U.S. and Iran might be just what the doctor ordered.

They want us beating our chests and crying for war like we’ve been attacked, but the fact is: we have not been attacked.

Even the briefest of historical accounts can demonstrate that our own government, not the Iranian people (who will suffer the most from a war), is responsible for creating and driving the tensions to extremes.

Let’s take a look at our own culpability in this.
