Proof: Drugs keep the banking system afloat

Mexican drug cartels pulled their cash out of US banks in 2007…and month later major banks started buckling.

Coincidence?

Well for starters, all the major banks have been convicted (but barely punished) for laundering drug money…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Mr. & Ms. ‘Toot’ having a ‘Hoot’ or Vice-(PardonThePun)-Versa?

I used to explain the Savings & Loan fiasco by telling people that
after the S&L MultiBillion BankRobbery, the feds put away a couple
of people who were distantly related to one of the GetAway Drivers,
and made them give back a ‘dime.’

Great post. Miami Beach was built in similar style. The documentary “Cocaine Cowboys” tells the story of 1970’s /80’s Columbian and Cuban drug cartels who partnered with banks to launder money and once busted, the whole city near shut down. Banking and Corruption have gone hand in hand from the beginning. The Feds are certainly aware but having their own interest in keeping the status quo, allow much of it.
