English First Opposes Obama Federal Court Nominee
English First needs your help to prevent an extreme anti-English advocate from becoming a member of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. President Obama announced his intention to nominate Marisa Demeo to be an Associate Judge on The Superior Court of the District of Columbia, in our nation’s capital. Since this is a federal court Ms. Demeo must be approved by the Senate before she is appointed to this position.
Marisa Demeo has clearly demonstrated by her actions that she lies outside the mainstream of American political thought and thus, is not suitable for a position on the federal judiciary.
Before accepting her current position as magistrate judge in the Superior Court Criminal Division, Marisa Demeo was a long time lawyer and lobbyist for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF). During her tenure as regional counsel for MALDEF Marisa Demeo consistently trumpeted the radical views of the anti-English multicultural lobby. For example, Ms. Demeo announced her opposition to making English the official language of the United States. Moreover, she supported mandatory in-state tuition for illegal aliens and called for a general amnesty for all illegal’s currently residing in the United States. Such views clearly show that Marisa Demeo has an agenda that is truly out of touch with mainstream America.
