When President Obama reluctantly agreed to begin sending 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan late last year, did he do it under pressure from the neo-conservatives and the military-industrial complex? In a recent article, filmmaker John Hankey points to a secret war going on inside the Beltway that pits old-guard neo-conservative internationalists against the naive administration that is currently occupying the White House. It’s a life or death battle, says Hankey, with the American people caught in the middle.
