You’ve more than likely heard about the Wall Street Journal article about market-based health care reform from Whole Foods’ CEO John Mackey. If not, allow me to give you a brief summary: Mr. Mackey explains in a level-headed manner that there are certainly problems with the current health care system, and that reform is needed. He explains eight ways that the government can lower health care costs (all of which do not add to the already enormous deficits). He also mentions the fact that the financial obligations of Medicare and Social Security are massive, and that our current fiscal road is unsustainable. He also believes that eating the right foods (namely, Whole Foods’) is a wise decision.
