A Very Good Example Of The Kind Of Representation We Have In Congress:
A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function where Nancy Pelosi happened to appear. Ms Pelosi took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.
‘Would you mind telling me, Doctor,’ she asked, ‘how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?’
‘Nothing is easier,’ he replied. ‘You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track.’
‘What sort of question?’ asked Pelosi.
Well, you might ask, ‘Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?”
Pelosi thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh,
‘You wouldn’t happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don’t know much about history.’

You are correct in saying that “humorous” does not equal “untrue”. However, the last time I checked, “satire” and/or “parody” ARE fiction = UNTRUE!
I would expect more from a “Northrop Grumman” employee. But then who knows who they hire these days!
And, in closing, I in NO way endorsed or otherwise supported Palin or McCain! All one would have to do is look at the content of the articles I post to understand I have NO affinity for the neo-cons – about the same as the liberal/socialist agenda!
Classifying something as humorous isn’t labeling it as untrue. It’s posted in “Education, Government, History, Humor/Satire/Parody” because you were too uninformed to know that it was untrue and you thought that you relating a funny true story.
I suspect that this old joke was refabricated into a jab on Pelosi to in a poor attempt to deflect from the proven idiot woman politician from Alaska who has been in the news for the last few months.
That’s why it’s categorized under HUMOR!
