Who is Michael L. Connell? Part I: The Atwater School of Politics

As reported yesterday, in 2001 a GOP operative and close confidant of the Bush family was tapped to re-program the Capitol Hill IT network for the 21st century, after George W. Bush’s controversial victory over Vice President Al Gore completed the Republican revolution of 1994.

The “Mayor of Capitol Hill” and fellow Ohioan Bob Ney opened the door for Michael “Mike” L. Connell after the GOP put House IT under the control of the Committee on House Administration. Ney, who chaired the committee from 2001 to 2006 is now serving 30 months in federal prison for conspiracy to defraud the United States and falsifying financial disclosure forms.

Of course not, Bob. You weren’t guilty of anything, right? Of course, you get to pick and choose your guilt and/or innocence.
    You’ve got to be kidding!
After your nefarious dealings with the convicted Abramhoff, and your own conviction, I’m not about to believe anything you say!
I’ll stick to my own sources.
BTW, how much time do you have left on your prison sentence?

    Dear Harold,
Why do you, and others, choose to perpetuate an urban myth?
I had nothing to do with michael connell and his contracts with the house IT systems. Those were arranged by the CEO of the house. Anythng that was done that was nefarious, was done without the knowledge of myself or any of the members of the Committee. Maybe one should look at the campaign accounts that Connell worked on, and what THOSE people did to get him into the door of the then Republican CEO of the house to do work for the IT system.
Simply put, you can think whatever you wish of me and what happened with me, but this is a dead end in trying to link me to someone that I had absolutely nothing to do with.
    Sincerely,

    Bob Ney
