The above illuminated billboard, which is located on Southbound I-75, 5.2 miles South of US129 at mile marker 445, near the Georgia border, was erected on February 8, 2012 by the all volunteer organization Floridians for Immigration Enforcement. This is a wakeup call for Florida Governor Rick Scott who promised Floridians he would work to get mandatory E-Verify enacted to protect our legal workers. He has remained silent and has failed to use the power of the Governor’s office to help get E-Verify enacted.
Additional details are at the FLIMEN web site www.flimen.org.
A photograph of the billboard is forthcoming and will be posted and emailed when available.

A sampling of billboard media coverage:
FLIMEN Comment: This AP article is reposted a lot. The politically correct Associated Press (AP) would not publish the proper legal term “illegal alien” when inaccurately quoting the billboard. Further, the AP reports immigration not as public policy news but rather as a cultural/racial issue by AP Hispanic Affairs Writer Laura Wides-Munoz.
FLIMEN Comment: Fox reported on the billboard as a rewrite of the above AP article and not as public policy news but rather as a cultural/racial issue, in the Fox News Latino section.
FLIMEN Comment: The comments section has an interesting exchange on the fairness of the billboard.
FLIMEN Comment: This is the FLIMEN press release.
