Who’s betting on the deficit reduction ‘super committee’?

The extra-Constitutional ‘super committee’, established only a few months ago, looks to be as dysfunctional as the Congress it was created to bypass and may already be leading us down the path to ruin.

Partisanship, stalemates, tension, looming deadlines, and disastrous consequences all sound very familiar, almost as if nothing has really changed except the architecture of failure.

Failure of the super committee to agree on $1.2 trillion in cuts by Wednesday could lead to a stock market freefall or worse.

With the establishment of such a ‘super committee’, who will they blame if it all goes wrong?
