As part of his warmed-over jobs plan, President Obama is repackaging “Buy American” stimulus subsidies to help hard-hit homegrown businesses. At the same time, however, Congress is pushing to expand a fraud-riddled investor program that puts U.S. citizenship for sale to the highest foreign business bidders.

Call it the Buy America Cash-for-Visas plan.

And now… the rest of the story. …..

Obama did not invent this, the program of allowing investor to come to the USA was a positive move under Bush. It follow the immigration tradition and rules that immigrant must have sponsors that assume total financial responsibility for the immigrant, The rule is clear, the immigrant cannot become a “public charge” This was enforced as a response to a waive of immigration from Europe of people seeking economic survival from starvation. The problem with immigration started
with agribusiness corporations that demolished our traditional family farms and needed cheep labor. Regulated at first by specific seasonal needs it soon became a no man land for big companies who kept replacing immigrant with new one at lower wages. Unfortunately they did not repatriate those already here. Reagan was the first to solve the political opportunity to grant them all amnesty without replacing the traditional contracts and immigration rules. It soon changed from
economick issue to political opportunism and you know the rest. I am
happy that requirements, financial or educational that respond to a
national need are again being enforced. I agree with Malkin that some industries shoud not be sold blanket visas by the number. We need to
keep control of who comes in according to our own employment
    needs.
