First of all, the comments from Beckel are always so far out of touch with reality that it makes him look like a fool. If he were at least a moderate democrat, he wouldn’t distort the truth and be caught in so many lies.
His comments that this administration deported more illegal’s than any other one is nothing more than bloviating nonsense. Border Patrol Agents on the line will tell you themselves, and I know quite a few, that the D.C. bosses, including the Secretary of DHS and her lower level minions, have instructed them to under report the numbers being caught and to over report the numbers being deported. Indeed, they will tell you that they catch and report no more than 5 to 8% of the illegal’s that enter the USA. I have lived in Ariozna for 20 years and have stood on the border for many years and I’ve never seen Beckel or any other member of your panel down here viewing the devastation and the horrible damage done to our environment. The second thing that “good ole boy Bob” lies about is that children born of illegal aliens in the USA are citizens. The facts are: there is no law or Supreme Court precidence that grants U.S. Citizenship to children born of illegal aliens. And, there is absolutely no evidence that supports his argument that illegal aliens are allowed to join the military and that they serve in harms way. Indeed, any illegal alien that shows up at a recruitment center should and must be reported as being illegal as codified Immigration and Naturalization Laws prohibit the aiding and abetting of illegal aliens in every and all circumstances. The fact that political administrations, including this one have chosen to IGNORE the laws on the books doesn’t give any credibility to their policies that they put in place to PROTECT the law breakers that are here illegally. No Executive Order may alter the actions of Congress, as only Congress has the Legislative authority to make laws – and from those Statutes flows the laws, the rules and the regulations. Policy making is purely a unilateral and arbitrary action of partisan politicians. Both sides of the aisle are guilty of ignoring and abandoning the Rule of Law.
Beckel, for all his grandstanding on any and all issues “obama”, needs to read the Constitution, rather than continuing to rely upon his little RED PARTISAN PLAYBOOK. As a veteran and a retired senior federal manager, there is nothing more disgusting than to see a former UnderSecretary of whatever use his vaunted position to lend credibility to that which he knows is wrong and unlawful.
If Beckel believes that children of illegal aliens are indeed U.S. citizens….please show me the LAW OR THE SUPREME COURT DECISION based on the 14th Amendment that grants them that right. HE CAN’T BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE!!
Finally, the BACKDOOR AMNESTY move by Obama doesn’t only end the deportation process for illegal aliens that are now being processed for deportation….it will give them “WORK PERMITS” as well.
It’s a real shame that FOX has so many “lawyers” and “legal” experts employed on its network and not many of them appears to knows anything about Constitutional Law, or even how the legislative intent of each amendment is applied and considered when questions, relative to the Constitution are raised and discussed. Red Eye Greg fell quickly into the red, white and blue argument raised by Beckel that there are illegal aliens serving in the military, as if to validate their criminal presence in the USA as being heroic. And no one challenged Beckel’s assertion that children born to illegal alien parents were citizens of the USA.
That seems to be the national problem with the GOP and so-called conservatives. When the liberals say something in public, the opposition bends over backwards to defend their comments as if they are afraid to challenge the argument and expose the lie. So, what does the public see? Four so-called conservatives - all afraid to challenge a big mouth liar like Beckel.
