Conviction

Ron Paul’s first commercial hits the airwaves starting tomorrow in both Iowa and New Hampshire with a healthy six figure budget behind it. The ad is very high quality and seems to have taken a few lessons from the Rand Paul campaign and so it focuses on the debt, spending and the economy. The ad feels a bit more like an ad for the Republican party rather than for Ron Paul himself, but truly states Ron Paul is the only politician who does what he promises and never compromises.

The ad also takes a jab at Republican house leader Boehner by showing his image while asking the question, “But will our party leaders repeat the mistakes of the past? Will they choose compromise or conviction?”.  Perfect timing considering it looks as though Boehner is about to collapse and make a backroom deal with Obama on the debt ceiling.

Perhaps the ad is indeed for the Republican party, a new kind of Republican party, the kind most Republicans want them to be instead of what they are. We’ll see if the masses “get it” as all eyes will be focused on the congressman’s performance in the Iowa Ames Straw poll results in the wake of his first national advertising campaign.
