The ‘toxic vote’ that could sweep GOP out of Congress for years

DeMint says if Repubs don’t handle debt limit right, they’re out in 2012

Someone in Washington has finally figured out why opposing another hike in borrowing is the most important issue facing America – and particularly for Republicans, says Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND and founder of the grass-roots “No More Red Ink” campaign.

Farah was referring to Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina who told ABC News today that Republicans who support raising the debt limit without first passing a balance budget amendment and massive across-the-board spending cuts will be out in 2012.

“You’re gone,” he said, “destined to be swept out of Congress by a wave of voter anger. Based on what I can see around the country not only are those individuals gone, but I would suspect the Republican Party would be set back many years. It would be the most toxic vote. I can tell you if you look at the polls, Democrats, Republicans, independents, they do not think we should increase the debt limit.”

And now… the rest of the story. …..

I could agree with De Mint, usually you know where he is coming from.
As for WND and Farah we are sure to differ where to cut to balance the budget. To me across the board means “all expenses will be checked and axed equally. Obama has declared that we need to take care of the USA, given his position on the Arab Spring uprising I am sure it includes that all those billions we spent on those dicators to be nice to Israel are staying home and Israel will have to find another way to be loved by the new leaders. Obama also said each nation should be able to take care of their borders and security. Except of courser in cases of unprovoked foreign invasion in which case the UN must step in.
Given the money we spend keeping troops all over and providing weapons for defense that also should ensure saving. Well, that will sure hurt the politicians relying on Foreign lobbies. So, lets make sure the cut is across the board farley. I also think those blessed by Bush special cut that was not provided for could redirect the money they give their favorite politicians to pay off at least the interest on the debit owed on their unpaid tax cut.

See there is a JUST way for both sides. Obama can tell the progressive to go back to Obama original health plan offering a low cost plan for those of low income and support ire Free Clinic volunteer work for those who cannot pay at all and are on welfare Medical.
