In arguing for S.501, the “Food Safety Modernization Act,” there are all sorts of attorneys, legislators and internet commentators who keep claiming, “The government won’t try to control the food production of small farms.” They say, “Your backyard garden is safe” and that the feds won’t come knocking on your door to control your seeds or foods.
As usual, these pushers of Big Government are utterly ignorant of the history in their own country. Because as you’ll learn right here, not only CAN the U.S. government control and dictate to single-family farms what they can grow in their own backyards; the government has already blatantly done so!
In this article, I’ll share with you the full and true story of how Big Government has already run rampant over the rights of individuals to grow their own food — I’ll even cite the US Supreme Court decision that “legalized” this tyranny.

Now let us not blame Obama for this. I am 84 years old and I remember this issue that started so many years ago. Same pictures, for other reasons such as surplus that caused price to drop. Started looking for foreign markets. Than Taxes issues, Greedy Corp. took over to export to newly found foreign markets, and taxes used to prevent small farmer to pass on his farm to son etc etc. Yes those family farm, the backbone of American civilization, were always the first pushed around as unwilling to modernize and meet competition….But the Farmer who wanted to pass the business to his sons kept that business clean and healthy. the Corp. just try anything to increase export production fast, that is why we now need more inspection.
There was no Internet to call for help as “we the people Org.” poor farmers too small to push big Agribusiness around just went under.
I think we are almost there about re-claiming our country as we want it, if the Republicans don’t ruin it for us, they like big Corp too much.
Now they can no longer tell us “the people just don’t understand foreign affairs and economic leave the driving to us” I still remember the Greyhound bus used as a prop. Funny in a way because now it is Congress that does no understand common sense and facts of life, so lets start telling them “they don’t know how to drive” as Obama said, and right on this one, “you drove us into a ditch” Obama? well, he was on target until he let Congress do the driving. I hope he got the message. We tell them where we want to go and He tell congress, “I am the designated driver, you are too drunk with power and special interest”
