Exclusive: Alaska Counts Anti-Murkowski Slurs as Votes for Murkowski?
FloydReports.com has extensively covered the illegal standard Alaska’s Big Government GOP establishment has used to count write-in votes for incumbent Lisa Murkowski. Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai and Lt. Governor Craig Campbell told the media before the write-in vote count began that they would credit misspelled votes to Murkowski, although the law states a vote “may not be counted” unless “the oval is filled in for that candidate and if the name, as it appears on the write-in declaration of candidacy, of the candidate or the last name of the candidate is written in the space provided.” Fenumiai and Campbell instructed election officials to determine the “voter intent” behind each ballot cast. Representatives of Joe Miller’s campaign have stated such counts are necessarily subjective and open to abuse.
They could not have been more correct.
A source in Alaska told this reporter the counting boards appointed by Fenumiai awarded Murkowski at least one vote cast for “Mercowshit” and another for “Fuckowski.” These protest votes were credited for Murkowski on the grounds that two syllables of her last name were phonetically correct.
