A Lot Of Uproar Over The Koran Lately. Want To Know What I Think?
It took awhile, but finally someone asked me what I thought about Reverend Terry Jones’ plan to burn copies of the Koran on Saturday. I guess it really doesn’t matter now, as I read that he has tentatively cancelled the event. Whether or not he goes ahead with it is irrelevant, because the question got me started thinking. You know what happens when I start thinking, I invariably end up writing something that will piss someone off.
Let me begin with by saying that I don’t know much about the Reverend Jones, so I can’t really speak in regards to his reasons for deciding to burn copies of the Koran on this particular anniversary of 9/11. Maybe it is because of the sudden attention being paid to the plan to build a mosque at ground zero. What I do know is that the Reverend Jones did a bang up job of getting a wide range of people all fired up.
Although his right to burn copies of the Koran, or the Bible for that matter, is Constitutionally protected, I don’t see how his doing so would make that much of a difference. It might make a powerful political statement, but other than that all it would do is make more Muslims pissed off at us than are already pissed off at us.
However, it seems that Muslims are not the only people that the Reverend has pissed off. He appears to have done an outstanding job of pissing off members of our government as well. This past Tuesday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was quoted as calling his plan a “disrespectful, disgraceful act.”

Well Neal like all other self righteous people around all you hit was Hillary carefully worded comment. I do not particularly like Hillary she is a Neocon in my book, loves Netanyahu too much. BUT as I posted here or in the Vietnam Veterans Journal, none of those great American Patriots stopped for one moment to think what it would to our troops trying to convince those nations we are not after Islam only after a group a criminals who hit us.
Well some things really P….you off and then there are some things that absolutely infuriate me. I am 84 I was married to a military, I was a Gray Lady I have seen war and what those guys put up with and I tell you NOTHING PISSES ME OFF MORE that some ass holes who put our troop in arms ways, I say “Oh my God stop….what do you think they will do if you insult them to their deepest core” As for our Bibles burnt there, those Judeo/Christian/Zionist Evangelist who love this war so they can get Armageddon and go to heavens had no business sending Bibles there. And I May ask why those Orthodox Jews burned the Bibles in Israel. Now Hillary, Obama and all it took Gen Petraeus to stand up and say “stop this it hurt our troops ” ( I would vote for him, it is America first and our troops as main interest no dual citizenship there) Obama waited then tried to find a way that would not support either side so he did his job, upholding the Constitution is his job. And remember that at first he said “They have a Constitutional right to go there, I am not addressing the wisdom of doing so” What more do you want!!!
For those of you who want to fight those Islamist, volunteer I am sure the General can find a job for you, and stop this back seat driving unless you know all the facts.
