Israel Weighs Merits of Solo Attack on Iran
The Israeli security establishment is divided over whether it needs Washington’s blessing if Israel decides to attack Iran, Israeli officials say, as the U.S. campaign for sanctions drags on and Tehran steadily develops greater nuclear capability.
Some senior Israeli officials say in interviews that they see signs Washington may be willing to live with a nuclear-armed Iran, an eventuality that Israel says it won’t accept. Compounding Israeli concerns were U.S. statements this past weekend that underscored U.S. resistance to a military option. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Sunday discussed a memo to National Security Adviser James Jones warning that the U.S. needed new strategies, including how to contain a nuclear Iran—suggesting that Iran could reach nuclear capability without any foreign military force trying to stop it.

That is why we have to make sure loud and clear they are on their own. We do not want the bombs from an angry Arab wold to fall on us. Iran would not attack Israel and kill the Palestinians but they worry Israel will attack them as they have managed top get us to d for them.

LEON HUMPHREYS : Dont be so sure. Most Americans I know are well aware that Israel is the welfare state of the US, that Gaza is in under apartheid, that the only reason we support them is beacause of their strategic position in the Middle East oil reserves but that the US will NEVER support Israel in dragging us and the rest of the world into nuclear war. So they can go ahead and keep dreaming but theyre gunna have to do it on their own dime.
I am sure a MAJORITY Americans side with Israel and not this muslim president and minions in the Whitehouse!
