President Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize

President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” the Norwegian Nobel Committee said, citing his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.

The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.

    In the certainty that being a political figure head does gain an individual notority. The fact remains that Obama does not in any way deserve this high honor. The decision to give him this prize has cheapened the meaning behind it. What has he done? He is attempting to destroy our current health care system, he has no regard for what America stands for. His actions speak for them selves. He cant commit to the war on terrorism and has no military background of any type to be our commander in chief. He should give the money to someone that HAS accomplished something, or better yet refuse the prize.
