New Savior – Baloney – Ancient Rome

obama-messiahWatching the inauguration last week, with the reverential adoration being heaped upon the new president, I couldn’t help but realize that we, like Rome, are facing the end of the American empire. Certainly the price tag that accompanied the last week’s inauguration and parties would have found acceptance in ancient Rome.

The rationale cannot be overlooked that where paganism exists, even among decadent monotheism, the state will spontaneously produce a deified emperor as witnessed by both the Lincoln and Martin Luther King cults of today.

America prides itself in electing a savior who proclaims “change,” and “transparency” and who, like any supreme father, promises to unite the nation, cure the national ills while gladly supplying all the needs of poor dependent children in wanting; it occurs to me that many of the myths that accompanied the Emperor cult of ancient Rome are not far removed from the adulation many Americans have for their new president.

For the rest of the story …..

It behooves me that you plucked an excerpt not worth reading on.

It behooves me that the sentiments of the supporters somehow being claimed as the projecting aura of the leader they followed. In some part of the wood, people call this inspiration.

No one should fault Ron Paul for attracting neo-Nazi flies or Bush getting treated like Moses the II in the eyes of the evangelical south. It’s just the nature of politics.

Funny how a re-reading of that article showed even more stupidity: The comparison of monotheism and paganism.

Americans have the right to extrapolate from the haystack whatever they see fit, even if it is moronic. So cheers, three at that, for your selection.

I don’t have to name ANY instances.

You are evidently part of “the herd”. Mr. Case NEVER said that Obama overtly claimed to be the Messiah.

However, his supporters/followers/disciples have made Obama’s “Messiah-complex” quite evident!

It would behoove you to read the ENTIRE article (not just the excerpt) before making unmerited comments.
